Personally, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having maybe one-too-many chunky knitwear pieces in your wardrobe. Something about a chunky knit to me says, “curl up by the fireplace with cider or whiskey and something sweet to nibble on.” It's the ultimate cold-weather must-have.
Not too thin, not too thick. Not too long, and definitely not too short. No bagging behind the waist, suitable for a small bust. Perhaps I’m a little (read: a lot) picky – but I want to find one that not only ticks off these boxes but is also versatile enough to wear for years to come. Oh, and it has to be black.
In all seriousness though – I love a good tale that involves a bit of scandal, a little bit of romance, and a lot of intrigue. Du Maurier’s books have it all, and they’re all told in this eerily captivating way that will have you on the edge of your seat from page one to the very end.
As someone who is a complete and utter hopeless romantic, I find that whilst the physical is a big aspect of relationships for me, that’s not what I’m craving most. It’s the emotional intimacy, being able to know someone and how they think, inside and out.
